Nun's Stitch is used around the border of the design to prevent the fabric from unravelling. This is worked with 1-ply Ecru color embroidery floss.

Trim the completed bookmark 5 rows away from the outer edge of the Nun's Stitch border on the top and bottom of the bookmark. The sides are trimmed up next to the Nun's stitch being careful not to clip into the stitching.

Pull the threads out on the 5 top and bottom rows, all the way to the edge of the Nun's Stitch, for form a fringe.
